Emergency Notification and Weather Warning System
The City of Longview is pleased to provide the Emergency Notification and Weather Warning System to the citizens of Longview.  We have contracted with the Emergency Communications Network to provide these services through CodeRED.

The Emergency Notification System is a high volume - high speed communication Service used for mass emergency notifications.  The City of Longview uses this system to send emergency public safety notifications to the citizens of Longview, as well as to city staff members.  Messages are delivered by telephone or cell phone.

The Weather Warning System is an early telephone warning system designed to automatically deliver targeted weather notifications for the immediate threats of severe thunderstorm warnings, flash flood warnings and tornado warnings within moments of being issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). Citizens who register for this service will receive a pre-recorded alert message directly to your telephone when you are in the projected path of the severe weather. The system automatically sends these notifications without any effort from city staff 24 hours a day, 365 days a year providing you the needed time to prepare. This is critical if a tornado comes through your area during the night while you are sleeping, when television, radio broadcasts and sirens can be ineffective. Only residents who sign up to receive the warnings will be contacted.
