Input Wanted on Community Needs Assessment
(Longview, TX) The City of Longview is partnering with the Greater Longview United Way to produce an updated Community Needs Assessment. Every three years, the Greater Longview United Way conducts a survey to help determine the most needs throughout the greater Longview area.
The information gathered during the Community Needs Assessment is used to help the United Way determine funding for existing programs as well as funding to implement new programs for unmet needs. Additionally, the City of Longview utilizes the survey results to help analyze existing programs such as Housing and Community Development, Parks and Recreation, Partners in Prevention, and the Library. According to City of Longview Community Services Director Laura Hill, “The Community Needs Assessment is something that is helpful not just to the City of Longview, but also to the United Way and a large number of nonprofit organizations throughout the area.”
To complete the survey, residents are asked to go to www.LongviewUnitedWay.org. Paper copies of the survey are also available. For more information, contact the Greater Longview United Way at 903-758-0191. Survey deadline is February 8 for the paper version and February 15 for the online version.
